Fearless Was the Most Awarded Album In Country History!

FEARLESS is the only album in history to win the all-genre Album of The Year GRAMMY, plus Country Album of the Year Awards from the GRAMMYs, the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music and the American Music Awards.

Representatives from NARAS, The American Music Awards, The Country Music Association, and the Academy of Country Music all joined Big Machine Records Group President/CEO Scott Borchetta for an unprecedented group presentation honoring Taylor for her achievement.

FEARLESS, released in 2008, has won every album award in the country music genre, and was named all-genre Album of the Year at the 2010 GRAMMY Awards. Taylor, who turned 20 in December, was the youngest artist in history to win the music industry's coveted top prize and she is also the award's first-ever solo female country winner, and the first solo female winner in more than a decade. Taylor Swift ROCKS ADELAIDE AUS

From Georgie: I went to Taylor’s Adelaide concert and she was absolutely amazing! We lined up at 8 AM and had friends who had been lining up since 4:30 AM and we all received pit passes while we were waiting for Taylor to arrive. The pits were located in an exclusive sectioned off part of the floor and we had great views for the whole concert. She interacted with the crowd really well. Her singing was also incredible and her band was super nice.

She took our Caramel Tim Tams because they are her favourite Australian biscuit. After the show, we followed a car full of luggage that parked outside the Hilton, where she was staying. Taylor, her mum and all of her band members were so nice and they shared the packet of Tim Tams with us that we gave her earlier! We spoke to her for about 10 minutes before she went inside because she was flying out to Japan the next day.

Also pix of Tay arriving at Narita International Airport in Japan. Taylor has come under fire from Australian environmental activists after feeding wild possums. On Wednesday Taylor visited a park and Tweeted: 'Tonight the band and I played a show, then hopped in the van and headed to the park for some midnight wild possum feeding.' Spokesperson for Environment Department said:

'We know people who feed wild animals often have the best intentions and that it is attractive to tourists who want to interact with Australian wildlife. However, DSE advises people not to feed wild animals. It can disrupt their natural behavior and it can cause some animals to lose their natural fear of people, making them vulnerable to attack.'

Dwight Yoakam sang about “guitars, Cadillacs and hillbilly music,” and the guitar is central to current stories involving three different Halls of Fame — one of which contains a Cadillac owned by the late Elvis Presley.

The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum, previously known as the Cowboy Hall of Fame, has a new guitar exhibit at its home in Oklahoma City, where instruments used by the likes of Vince Gill, Garth Brooks, Toby Keith and Marty Robbins are on display.

A guitar Taylor Swift used during a fundraiser to raise money for the Country Music Hall of Fame in the fall is now being sold at auction to raise even more money for the facility. And the Musicians Hall of Fame, located just blocks from the Country Hall in downtown Nashville, has to put guitars owned by some classic figures — including Charlie Daniels and Elvis musician Scotty Moore — into storage by the end of the week.

Vince, who’s one of the top guitarists in country music today, opted to put the guitar owned by his late father on display in the Cowboy Museum because the instrument is the one that started his entire journey as a musician.

“I got my own guitar when I was 10,” he told The Oklahoman, “but until then, that was the guitar that I tried to learn on. [Dad] had two guitars. That’s the one I was always drawn to, to try to learn to play. I think it’s got to be the first instrument I ever remember seeing.”

Here’s the rundown, good and bad, on guitars and Halls of Fame:

• The Cowboy Museum exhibit, “The Guitar: Art, Artists and Artisans,” opened Friday with some 50 instruments on display. It aspires to draw the connection between cowboys and the music they made, and the guitar was just one of several instruments used in the Old West. Rooted in Mexico, according to a story in The Oklahoman, it became associated with the cowboy in the 20th century through western movies, thanks in great part to Roy Rogers and Gene Autry.

• Taylor used a Taylor 12-string guitar during her performance at the All for the Hall benefit organized by Keith Urban in October. Her lucky number is 13, so it’s rather appropriate that the fundraiser took place Oct. 13. To keep the good vibes going, the auction began Saturday, Feb. 13, and runs 13 days through Feb. 26, with receipts tabbed for the Country Music Hall of Fame. As of Monday morning, the top bid was more than $7,000.

• As expected, a Nashville judge gave the city the right on Friday to seize the land occupied by the Musicians Hall of Fame to make way for a new convention center, The Tennessean reported. Facility owner Joe Chambers has thus far been unable to reach agreement with the city on appropriate compensation for the property and is considering moving the attraction to another market. In the meantime, he has to move a bundle of exhibits by Friday, including guitars owned by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Peter Frampton and session player Ray Edenton. Who is Ray Edenton? And why should you care about his guitar? A member of Nashville’s legendary A-Team, Ray contributed to such important recordings as David Allan Coe’s “You Never Even Called Me By My Name,” Roger Miller’s “King Of The Road,” Kenny Rogers’ “Love The World Away” and Loretta Lynn’s “Coal Miner’s Daughter.”

Taylor Swift looks to be in the mood for Valentine’s Day as she totes around three pink, red and white bags at Sydney Airport in Australia on Saturday afternoon (February 13).
The 20-year-old musician just completed her Fearless tour dates in the land down under and is off to Tokyo, Japan next. She’ll play the Zepp Arena on Wednesday, February 17.
You can still catch Taylor in Valentine’s Day, the movie, which opened this weekend. The film is expected to gross around $60 million it’s debut weekend.

As if winning a handful of Grammys didn't garner Taylor Swift enough attention, she's making her film debut in ''Valentine's Day,'' a new Garry Marshall-directed ensemble film about a handful of Los Angelinos looking for Mr. and Ms. Rights.
''There's one good reason why Taylor Swift is so successful,'' says the movie's costume designer Gary Jones, ''and that's because she's as smart as she is beautiful. She's together -- physically, mentally. She couldn't be more deserving of her success.''
Jones, who lives in Lower Saucon, didn't know that Swift was a Berks County native when he worked with her so the two didn't compare notes on the Keystone State.
''We didn't talk about Pennsylvania at all but we did have a nice time,'' notes Jones. ''She's really a lovely young lady. Very gregarious and well-spoken.''
In the movie, Swift plays Felicia, a classmate of Emma Roberts' character and the girlfriend of Willy, played by Taylor Lautner, who reportedly had a romance with Swift in real life.
Initially, Swift and Lautner's work on the film was limited to a single day but Marshall was so impressed by their performances that he concocted another scene for the couple to do.
''Taylor was the epitome of a pro, which isn't always the case [with an actress her age],'' adds Jones. ''She's willing to put the work in. There was none of that talking on the cell phone, being distracted, 'I've been on a plane all night'-type of behavior. She arrived and was ready to go to work.''

Details on Taylor Swift's New Album, First Single to Arrive This Summer

Taylor Swift has started writing new songs for her next studio album. The first single from the forthcoming release is expected to be released in late summer or early fall with the album to follow later on.

"She was on an amazing writing spree through December and January, and we were able to go in and cut all those things," Big Machine Records executive Scott Borchetta told USA Today. "If she writes something great between now and July, it will go on the record. She's been extraordinarily prolific the last six months."

Taylor, who is currently in Australia for her "Fearless" tour, is expected to return to the U.S. in April for Academy of Country Music Awards despite the backlash she received across the nation post the Grammys. "The next time you see her will likely be on the ACM Awards show," Scott said. "During that time, we're going to have a new video, but as far as the talking head of Taylor Swift, that one's gone into hiding for a little bit, at least on this continent."

In response to people who claimed that Taylor "can't sing", Scott defended her, "She's a very intelligent girl. She's going to keep addressing it and keep getting better." He, moreover, praised her for daring not to make lip-sync performances like many artists do nowadays. "The fact that it's not perfect, in some ways, has been an asset," he gushed. "That makes it all the more believable, to a certain point."

Taylor Swift takes a step back from the spotlight after awards

For the past five months, Taylor Swift has been everywhere. From the VMAs to the CMAs to the Grammys, she seems to have performed on every awards show — and come home with an armful of trophies.

Tabloids have chronicled her every casual date. Now, with Sunday's top-album win for Fearless and three other Grammys, Swift's handlers are concerned that the young singer could be overexposed.

Heading to Australia for a tour that starts Thursday might help.

"The Australian dates had been planned all along, but it actually worked out great," says Scott Borchetta, who runs Big Machine Records, Swift's label.

"The next time you see her will likely be on the ACM (Academy of Country Music) awards show" in April, Borchetta says. "During that time, we're going to have a new video, but as far as the talking head of Taylor Swift, that one's gone into hiding for a little bit, at least on this continent."

Avoiding overexposure isn't the only issue the 20-year-old faces. Critics have panned her recent live TV performances as pitchy. The Grammy duet with Stevie Nicks was no exception. "Now, everybody knows that Taylor Swift can't sing," influential blogger Bob Lefsetz wrote after the performance.

"They've got to figure out how to get this girl to sing on TV and sound right," says former Spin magazine editor Alan Light. "That's becoming more of a limitation as she's flying at that altitude."

Borchetta says Swift is working on her live TV performances.

"She's a very intelligent girl," he says. "She's going to keep addressing it and keep getting better."

But Light also points out that in an era when many stars lip-sync, Swift's less-than-pitch-perfect television performances humanize her. "The fact that it's not perfect, in some ways, has been an asset," he says. "That makes it all the more believable, to a certain point."

But, Light says, "she's going to have to deliver a little stronger."

Swift intentionally kept a low profile from mid-December until the Grammys. During that time, she stayed off the red carpet and in the recording studio, cutting an album's worth of material.

The first single from Swift's third album will go to radio in late summer or early fall, and the album will follow late in the year. "She was on an amazing writing spree through December and January, and we were able to go in and cut all those things," Borchetta says. "If she writes something great between now and July, it will go on the record. She's been extraordinarily prolific the last six months."

Swift's fans seem to have an insatiable appetite for her music right now. Two weeks ago, a new track, Today Was a Fairytale, sold 325,000 copies, the best download debut for any female act ever. The song appears on the soundtrack for the Feb. 12 film Valentine's Day, in which Swift has a small role.

Swift's sold-out North American tour begins March 4 in Tampa and runs into June.

Though Team Taylor is trying to limit her national appearances, Borchetta says, "as much as you try to pull back, there are some things you can't stop. We can't stop Us Weekly from snapping a picture of her and putting it on the cover."

Ultimately, losing song of the year to Beyoncé and record of the year to Kings of Leon at the Grammys might have been one of the best things that could have happened to Swift.

"I think she benefited from not having a sweep," says Los Angeles-based music journalist Chris Willman, who covered the Grammys for Yahoo! Music. "The media backlash would have been considerable. It's tough to rule from the perch of that kind of coronation."

Ageing legends AC/DC - who have spent 40 hard-living years rocking their way around the world, selling out stadiums and shifting 200 million records - now demand, in their tour riders, 15 large ashtrays and three oxygen tanks with masks backstage at their concerts.

"We usually carry that just in case," lead singer Brian Johnson said yesterday. "Some of the gigs we've been doing have been 100 degrees on the stage and there is no air in the place so you gotta usually get back and take a couple of gulps."

By comparison, Taylor Swift, the 21-year-old clean-cut American sweetheart, has a rider wish-list that reads like the contents of a schoolkid's lunchbox. She only needs a large iced caramel latte (preferably from Starbucks), a slice of pumpkin loaf and a bottle of vitamin water.

While AC/DC posed for happy snaps by the harbour ahead of their sell-out Black Ice tour, Swift, still on a high after winning four Grammys last week, played to a packed crowd at Acer Arena - the first of two Sydney shows.

A year ago, the pop country singer was introduced to the Australian market with a show at Enmore's Factory Theatre, with just a few hundred fans in the room.

Last night in front of almost 15,000 fans, Swift performed 16 songs, including hits You Belong With Me, Tim McGraw and Love Story.

Her two albums - Taylor Swift and Fearless - have sold millions of copies and last month she was named the top-selling digital artist in history, with sales of more than 24 million tracks.

In contrast, AC/DC measures most of its past success in sales of vinyl and compact discs. But Australia's biggest ever rock export is still in great shape.

The band - brothers Angus and Malcolm Young, Brian Johnson, Cliff Williams and Phil Rudd - last week won their first Grammy Award, for best hard-rock performance.

Black Ice has sold more than 600,000 tickets nationally, with the first of three Sydney shows to be held at ANZ Stadium on February 18."We've all had a great time and the crowds have been amazing around the world," Johnson said, adding: "But we've saved the best for last."

Taylor Swift and Cory Monteith may sing together on Glee someday, but they are not—we repeat, not—making sweet music together offscreen.

While the two may have dined together at Jerry's Deli in L.A. on Friday, they are "just friends," sources confirm to us.

In fact, Mr. Monteith was spotted later that same night, looking quite cozy at West Hollywood hot spot Voyeur with a mystery blonde...

"Cory showed up to the club with a girl who definitely looked like his date," an eyewitness tells us. "Mark Salling showed up with the two as well, but Cory spent the evening attached to the girl at the hip."

We're told Monteith and his lady friend spent most of the night holed up in a corner, where the Glee star gave the gal cute kisses on her forehead throughout the evening. "They looked like they were into each other and having fun," our spy says.

We're told the two left the club and hopped into Monteith's black Honda Civic at about 1:30 am.

Even so, one of our sources close to Monteith tells us the TV hunkster is "not exclusive with anyone at the moment."

And while we don't know if he has any plans to ask a lucky lady to be his Valentine, we have a feeling it won't be happening. Monteith has made it perfectly clear that he's no fan of the heart-filled holiday.

MTV News recently got the chance to catch up with the burgeoning actress to talk about the film. She didn't give much away about the details of her character (we have a feeling we saw most of her scenes in the film's second trailer), but she did let us know where movies stand in her future.

"I do like acting. Music is always going to be number one. Everything in my life, whether it be love or movies or anything, is always going to come behind music," Taylor said. "But movies are great, if you're telling the right story. I'm all about telling the right story."

Apparently her onscreen character Samantha Kenny is a bit different than how Taylor was in high school. "I got to be sort of the opposite of who I was in high school; my character is pretty superficial. It was pretty great to play," she said. Fortunately they do seem to have the same taste in men, since she and onscreen make out buddy, Taylor Lautner, tried their hand at dating offscreen after filming.

So does this mean TSwift will never show her love for a boy by writing his number on her hand? We're guessing that's the case, and instead she'll keep winning Grammy's, VMAs, AMAs and CMAs for her sweet love songs. Hopefully she'll never have a reporter in real life claim about her, "There you have it: young love. Full of promise, full of hope, ignorant of reality."

LOS ANGELES - Taylor Swift nabbed the top honour, album of the year, for her best-selling Fearless at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night.

Swift, who won a total of four awards, jumped around like the 20-year-old kid that she is when she beat Beyoncé, the Dave Matthews Band, Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas for the honour.

"Oh wow - thank you so much! I just hope that you know how much this means to me.... that we get to take this back to Nashville," said Swift, whose Fearless was last year's best-selling album of any genre.

"Oh my God, our families are freaking out in their living rooms," she added. "My dad and my little brother are losing their minds in the living room right now."

Beyoncé, who lost out on record of the year, which went to the Kings of Leon's Use Somebody, still owned the most awards of the evening.

She shared the song of the year trophy with three writers for Single Ladies and also won best RnB contemporary album for I Am ... Sasha Fierce.

"This has been such an amazing night for me and I'd love to thank the Grammys," Beyonce said after winning best female pop vocal for Halo.

Swift, who was second to Beyoncé in Grammy nominations with eight nods, also won best country album among her other awards. The victory capped an amazing run for Swift, whose Fearless is only her second album. Her self-titled debut was a platinum success but Fearless, with songs like You Belong With Me, took her into the superstar stratosphere, as she won accolades across genres.

People: Taylor Swift, Kanye West reuniting on stage for "We Are the World" II.

Kanye West and Taylor Swift will be on the stage again on Monday, though it's doubtful they'll generate the same kind of fireworks they did back at the MTV Music Video Awards in September.

The rapper and pop-country crooner have been tapped to be part of Quincy Jones' revival of "We Are The World" single to raise money for victims of the Haitian earthquake.
At the MTV awards, West ran on stage after Swift won for best female video performance, grabbed the microphone and complained that Beyonce should have won the award. He eventually apologized and has kept a fairly low profile since.
Jones is gathering music stars the day after the Grammys to record a new version of the 1985 song that was penned by Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson to benefit African famine relief. Other confirmed performers of "We Are the World" II include Celine Dion, Wyclef Jean, Miley Cyrus and Sugarland, with Jennifer Hudson, Will Smith, Jason Mraz, Sheryl Crow, Mya and Justin Bieber on the "rumored" list.
In other Haitian fundraising news, Wyclef Jean, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne are set to perform in a BET-hosted concert titled "SOS Saving OurSelves — Help for Haiti." It will be held at the American Airlines Arena in Miami and will air live on BET, MTV, VH1 and Centric on Feb. 5. Other performers inlcude Mary J. Blige, Drake, Justin Bieber, Keri Hilson, Robin Thicke and Monica.

Charity anthem ‘We Are The World’ is set to make a return — but not with Taylor Swift.
Contrary to previous information received by Access Hollywood on Thursday morning, Access has now learned that the country star will be jetting off for her Australian tour directly after the Grammys. A source previously told Access that the singer would be joining a group of all-star performers set to record a new version of “We Are The World” in LA on Monday.
Access apologizes for the earlier reporting error.
Producer Quincy Jones recently spoke out on the re-recording to E! Online, stating, “It’s the 25th anniversary and it’s perfect timing…It’s not an accident, man. That’s God. It will be ‘We Are The World’ for Haiti.”
The 1985 track, recorded to provide humanitarian aid to Africa, was written by Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and also featured performances by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Tina Turner and Diana Ross, among others.
The news of a possible remake was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter’s Showbiz 411 earlier this month.
According to E!, other potential performers on the track include Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, Will Smith, Jason Mraz, Sheryl Crow, Mya, Sugarland and Justin Bieber, though Quincy said the lineup is still in the works.
“I want to get a final list before I put it out,” Quincy said.
And with Michael Jackson in mind, Quincy told the site he plans to discuss his relationship with the late King of Pop in a CNN special, though he is not participating in the planned Grammy tribute to the singer.
A number of musicians have contributed to Haiti relief already, with the “Hope For Haiti Now” digital album hitting No. 1 on the Billboard charts this week – the first digital-only compilation to do so.

Ahhhhhhh! Those are really the only words that can describe what Tawny, me and only a few hundred other people witnessed last night. Keith Urban and John Mayer taped CMT Crossroads in Nashville and I am sure I do not have to mention the music those two men made together was phenomenal.

A lot of you have emailed us asking for details about the show but we are not going to give you details (because we want you to watch the show). All we are going to say is this:

We spotted Jake Owen, Caitlin Lynn, Kix Brooks, Scott Borchetta and yes….Taylor Swift in the audience rocking out to the best guitar playing I have ever witnessed. Taylor sang along to every word of every song and everyone was excited to see what these two would pull out of their pockets next.

I have heard a lot of people using the word epic to describe things lately (Michael Jackson’s This is It, Avatar, etc.) So I took it upon myself to look up the true definition of epic: heroic; majestic; impressively great: noting or pertaining to a long poetic composition, usually centered upon a hero, in which a series of great achievements or events is narrated in elevated style.

To finish our vocabulary lesson…I will use it correctly in a sentence:

CMT Crossroad with Keith Urban and John Mayer is epic.

Unfortunately, they did not tell us an air date for the show but we will keep our eyes and ears open and let you know as soon as we know. This will be a must see show for anyone who has love, passion and a feeling for music.

Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner may not officially be a couple, but we're guessing she definitely still has a massive crush on him. When asked by Sugar magazine what was really going on between the pair, Taylor blushed and hid her face before confessing, "Er, we’re texting… And… Um. I’m seeing him next week to film more scenes for Valentine’s Day, so…" Given all the giggling and blushing, we're gonna assume she has the hots. Bless. Taylor also admits in the interview that she had hardly any friends at school and that she used to hate her beautiful hair. "In school I hated my hair," she says. "My first boyfriend would make subtle suggestions, like, ‘I love your hair straight – you should do that more often.’ So I’d straighten it all the time. Singers John Mayer and Taylor Swift were spotted out together last night at Cabana restaurant in Nashville, Tenn., but it was "not a date," a rep for Cabana tells Life & Style.

"They were here last night with a group of 15 people for what looked like a typical music industry dinner," the rep tells Life & Style.

This isn't the first time the two have dined out together in recent months: Their new friendship sparked this past fall around the time the duo collaborated on the track "Half of My Heart" for John's newest album.

However, last night "it was just a group of people enjoying themselves, no wild shenanigans. It was definitely not a date."

How did you spend the holidays?
I was back in Nashville, and it was pretty cool — my brother's leaving for college next year and I'm moving out in a few months, so this was sort of a moment in time for me, I was definitely recording all of it in my mind, the last Christmas with all of us being in the same place.

Where were you when the ball dropped on New Year's Eve?
I was texting Hayley [Williams, of Paramore] to let her know I got home from dinner, and that my paranoid thoughts of getting in a car wreck were unwarranted. So I think I texted her something like, "Don't worry about me, I'm not dead," and I looked at the clock and it was midnight. So I actually got to experience looking at the clock when it struck midnight, and that was a really fun moment for me, it was the most unconventional New Year's Eve I've ever had.

Taylor Swift is building a pond in her living room.

The "Love Story" singer is planning to turn her new home in Nashville, Tennessee, into a fairytale palace and can't wait for building work to be completed.

She said: "It's going to be my fantasy world. There's a pond in the living room... The pond is a moat around the fireplace and may possibly have koi fish in it."

The pond is not the only unusual feature the 20-year-old star is planning for her home as she has also come up with a unique design for an observatory - a human bird cage.

She explained to Rolling Stone magazine: "You step on a stepping stone in the pond in order to get on a spiral staircase, which takes you up to the human-sized bird cage observatory.

"They're delivering a human-size birdcage, which I'll put a brass telescope in. The ceiling of my living room is painted like the night sky."

The 20-year-old musician opened up about destructive relationships, celebfriends and having the best fans in the world. Check it:
On her friendships with certain celebrities: “When I need to vent or have a rant about something that’s bothering me, I’ll call my friends Emma (Stone, from Zombieland) or Selena (Gomez), who can always cheer me up – she’s like a ray of sunshine! And Katy (Perry) always sends me the most hilarious text messages.”
On doing things for herself and not for any boy who comes around: “In school I hated my hair. My first boyfriend would make subtle suggestions, like, ‘I love your hair straight – you should do that more often.’ So I’d straighten it all the time. Or he’d say, ‘You look so good with a tan,’ so I was tanning every day. It hit me that I didn’t want to be the version of myself that he approved of, so I had to end it. I look back at pictures of myself and I look like a different person.”
On her stellar fans: “They’re girls my age who I’d be hanging out with if I was at school right now. We have a close relationship. If they come to a few shows, I remember them. I’m not going to put up a weird barrier between me and my fans – I wouldn’t have any of this without them.”

Just as she's burning up with digital sales of her "Valentine's Day" soundtrack song, "Today was a Fairytale," comes news that Taylor Swift will perform the song at the Grammy Awards on Jan. 31. According to the country superstar's media twitter feed, she will perform the "world premiere performance" of the track on the show, where she is up for eight awards. She's battling it out against Lady Gaga and Beyonce for top diva honors at the show. She's up for a number of awards including Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. "To be recognized by the Grammys is the ultimate honor," she said about her nominations, adding that the recognition "absolutely is something that you daydream about."

She also has another track on the soundtrack, her Fearless re-release track, "Jump Then Fall." As if that news wasn't exciting enough; it's also been reported that "Fairytale" has already sold more than 98,000 downloads since being released to iTunes earlier this week.
Taylor is also bound to get even busier as the year rolls along. She recently tweeted she's in the studio working on new music, plus "Valentine's Day" (the aforementioned movie in which she stars alongside Taylor Lautner) opens February 12 (the soundtrack is out Feb. 9) and she's going to hit the road again this spring. What can't this girl do?

‘The Hope For Haiti’ Telethon!

When George Clooney teamed up with MTV for ‘The Hope For Haiti’ telethon he promised fans “a lot of great musicians.”

And he wasn’t kidding.

So far the incredible New York City line-up includes, Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira, and Sting.

While Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, and a group performance by Keith Urban, Kid Rock, and Sheryl Crow will perform in Los Angeles.

The London line-up will feature Coldplay and a group performance by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z, and Rihanna.

The three-hour global telethon, to be broadcast on MTV this Saturday (January 23) at midday (AEST), will be hosted by George Clooney in Los Angeles, and by the former Fugees star Wyclef in New York. The songs will then be released onto iTunes the following day.

Speaking on the red carpet at the Golden Globes George said, “It’s a good way and a good time to focus a lot of attention when…this is a very difficult time for people to be giving, so it just shows how compassionate people are.”

All proceeds will be split evenly among the five relief organisations currently working in Haiti: Oxfam America, Partners in Health, the Red Cross, UNICEF and Yele Haiti Foundation.

Help the stars spread the message further by texting “HAITI” to 90999 to make an automatic $10 donation or head to the Red Cross website.
